Codes that open the right chat
- 01Use the full international number without the leading 0: 63 917 123 4567 for a Philippine mobile, not 0917 123 4567.
- 02Put a reference in the message, like a product, table or listing number, so you know which code each chat came from.
- 03Your number is inside the link. Post the code publicly only if that number is meant to be public.
- 04Keep the message short: one sentence people can send as it is. They can still edit it before sending.
- 05On WhatsApp Business, the short link in Business tools is an option you can change later. A wa.me code never changes, which is also why it never breaks.

How do I create a WhatsApp QR code?
Enter your WhatsApp number with the country code, add an optional message, and download the code. Anyone who scans it lands in a WhatsApp chat with you, message typed in, ready to send.
What is a wa.me link?
It is WhatsApp’s click to chat link: https://wa.me/ followed by your full number, with ?text= and a message if you want one. The QR code made here holds exactly that link, which you can also copy and share.
How is this different from the QR code in WhatsApp settings?
The code in WhatsApp settings opens your profile so people can add you, and you can reset it to stop old copies working. A wa.me code opens a chat directly, can carry a message, and cannot be reset because it is simply your number.
Does the other person need to save my number first?
No. Scanning the code opens the chat straight away, without adding you to their contacts.
What number format does WhatsApp need?
The full international number: country code first, then the number, with no plus sign, leading zeros, spaces, brackets or dashes. This generator cleans those up for you and warns when the country code seems to be missing.
Will people see my phone number?
Yes. The number is part of the link, so anyone who scans or copies it can see it. Use a business number for codes you print in public.
Does a WhatsApp QR code expire?
No. It is a static code holding your wa.me link, so it keeps working as long as the number is on WhatsApp.
Why doesn’t the code open a chat?
Usually the number has a leading 0 or is missing its country code, or the number is not registered on WhatsApp. Check the link under the preview on your own phone.
Can I make a QR code for a WhatsApp group?
Yes. In the group, choose Invite via link and copy it, then make a Website QR code from that link. Resetting the group link later stops old codes working.
