Overview

A GoHighLevel funnel and lead automation build for a scaffolding contractor in South East Queensland.

Landing page, quote form, CRM pipeline and owner notification, configured as one system rather than a page with a form bolted on.

The problem

What was in the way

In scaffolding, the first company to respond usually wins the job. Builders call three suppliers and book whoever answers.

The owner is on site, not watching an inbox. A quote request that sits unread until the evening is a lost job, and neither the builder nor the owner ever finds out why.

So the build is not really a landing page problem. It is a response time problem.

What I built

Seven parts, each with a reason

Funnel landing page with a director intro video

Owner-operated is the differentiator in this trade. Builders want to know who turns up. The owner appears on camera rather than being described in a paragraph.

Quote form scoped to what the owner needs to price

Project type, timeline, suburb and job detail. Enough to quote or triage without a discovery call. Anything beyond that reduces completion, and anything less produces a call to ask the same questions.

What handover looks like

The pipeline, the automation and the form mapping are documented in the account itself rather than in a file nobody opens. The owner can see which stage a lead is in, and can move it without asking.

Service breakdown that lets a builder self-identify

Residential, commercial, industrial, labour hire and inspections, each named separately. A builder scanning the page finds their own job type in two seconds rather than reading a general capability statement.

Pipeline capture and instant owner notification

On submit, the lead is created as an opportunity in a GoHighLevel pipeline and the owner is notified immediately.

This is the part that decides whether the build works. A form that nobody is told about is a slower contact page. The notification trigger is the deliverable, not the landing page.

Regional coverage stated on the page

South East Queensland, named. Builders filter suppliers by coverage before anything else.

Why GoHighLevel rather than a website

A WordPress site with a form plugin would have produced the same landing page. It would not have produced the pipeline, the field mapping or the notification, and each of those would then be a separate plugin with its own settings and its own way of breaking.

For a single-service local business whose entire funnel is quote request to site assessment to job, the CRM and the page belong in the same system. One login, one place where a lead lives, and no hosting to maintain between them.

The trade-off is portability. The client is on a platform. That is worth stating plainly rather than discovering later, and it is why the sub-account is structured so the assets can be exported.

How it was built

The engineering underneath

GoHighLevelFunnel builder, CRM pipelines, automation triggers and form handling, with no separate hosting
Pipeline stagesSet to how this business sells rather than the default template, which matches nobody
Field mappingEach form field lands on the correct field of the opportunity rather than in an undifferentiated notes blob

The funnel is the visible half. The configuration behind it is where the job actually is.

Pipeline stages are set to how this business sells, not the GoHighLevel default template. A default pipeline describes a generic sales process and matches nobody.

Field mapping connects each form field to the correct field on the opportunity. Without it the submission lands as an undifferentiated notes blob, and the owner has to read a paragraph to find the suburb.

Automation triggers fire the owner notification on creation. Immediate, not batched, not a daily digest.

Sub-account structure keeps the client's assets contained and portable, which matters at handover.

GoHighLevel: funnel builder, CRM pipelines, automation triggers and form handling. No separate hosting, no WordPress, no plugins. For a single-service local business that needs lead capture and follow up, GoHighLevel is the right tool and adding a separate site would add cost and a second thing to maintain.

Why it matters for your project

I build software, and I measure whether it works.

The same questions I research are the ones I ask on client builds: is it reliable, is it fast, is it easy to use, and is it secure. Those four drove satisfaction in my ICT portal study, and they shape how I scope and test every project.
